About me - One late night I was researching what was some of the best fuel economy vehicles. Due to the ever increasing cost of fuel, I figured I needed to do something soon. I discovered that the Geo Metro was ranked the highest per mpg than any other production vehicle made to date. But not just any Geo Metro, but a Geo Metro XFI.

So, the research began. I read all I could. I searched all the for sale ads on the internet. I looked up the suggested price of the vehicles. What I found out is, their kind of a rare find. The cost is usually 2X that of Kelly Blue Book.

One website was very useful. Rick's Metro Xfi page came in very handy. I started visiting with Rick on a nightly bases before I bought ( or even found ) my Metro.

Then it happened. I was driving buy a local parking lot and there it sat. I pulled into the parking lot and parked next to the vehicle I'd been looking for. It was the holy grail of Metro's and my search had hopefully came to an end. In about 15 minutes, this nice ( and caught off guard ) gentleman approached. In short, I asked him if he wanted to sell it. They guy took a few days to think about it as this had been his daily driver for over 10 years and 75K miles. Within a few days, the gentleman called me and said he would be willing to sell it. One week later, I bought the car I had been looking for, a 1993 Geo Metro XFI.

The car, being a daily driver, drove and ran great. The vehicle didn't need anything mechanical done to it. Only thing it needed was a good bath. The vehicle had been smoked in for many many years. The oil had been changed every 3k, had new tires and battery. Even air filter was clean. I couldn't have asked for anything better.
