About Windshields:
7-38 The windshield of the
vehicle may be replaced with another material such as Plexi
or other transparent material.
7-39 The replacement windshield must
have the same angle as the original glass or A pillar.
7-40 The total thickness of the
replacement glass is not to exceed 2”.
7-41 The transparent area of
the replacement windshield must be at least 4 square
feet or 80% the size of the OEM which ever is smaller.
7-42 The unobstructed viewing
area must be symmetrical in nature.
7-43 Window bracing will be
considered non-transparent areas
7-44 Competitors may have
unlimited window bracing. Competitors must not place bracing in the center of
the windshield because of sensor placement. Bracing extending out past the
replacement glass into the passenger area must not exceed 1/4”.
7-45 A secondary windshield may
be installed inside the vehicle under the OEM windshield. No more than a 2” gap
must separate the two windshields.
7-46 Side windows must have 1.5
square feet of viewable area
7-47 The sensor will be placed
in the center of the windshield measured horizontally and vertically.
About Dashboards
7-48 Dashes may be replaced.
7-49 The difference between the
highest & lowest point of the dash must not exceed more than 4”. A dash will be
considered any horizontal plain extending out past the bottom of the windshield.
7-50 The highest point of the
dash must not exceed more than 2” below the bottom of the lowest transparent
part of the windshield.
7-51 The dash must be at least
3” deep measured from all points where the dash meets the windshield or
firewall. The maximum depth can be 12”. This will be measured at any point from
A-pillar to A-pillar.
Passenger Seating
7-52 Each vehicle must have forward facing front passenger OEM style seats mounted on both the driver’s and passenger’s
side.
7-53 The seat
may come from any traditional OEM automotive passenger vehicle. Seats not
allowed: Go-Cart seats, arcade game seats, dune buggy seats, etc. They are not
considered OEM equivalent.
7-54 The seat must not be
modified.
7-55 The seat must be mounted
on a flat surface or floor parallel with the ground.
Center Console
7-56 The center console must
not be higher than the lowest part of the dash.
7-57 The width of the center
console must allow for two OEM style seat to be mounted on the drivers and
passenger side of the vehicle.
Roof Build-Downs
7-58 The build-down may not
extend below the top of the door jamb. A string test may be performed along the
door seal to verify.
Access Panels
7-59 Modification of the OEM
foot pedals (accelerator pedal, brake pedal, clutch, and parking brake ) are not
permitted. Removable access panels are permitted
7-60 The minimum opening for a
removable panel shall not be smaller than 15” x 15” square I.D..
7-61 Competitors enclosing
their center console shifter must have a removable panel not to be smaller than
8” diameter or 8”x8” square.
Passenger Compartment
7-62 Competitors
must have 36” clearance between the floor and the roof build down at all places
from the B-pillar to the top of the A-pillar. Those areas over the center
console, seats, bracing and dash do
not apply.
Door Panels
7-63 Door panels must not
exceed 3” thick measured from the OEM door skin.
Bolt Tabs
7-64 A
maximum of 12 Door Bolt Tabs may be used.
Door bolt tabs are not to exceed 2” square
Bracing
7-65 Competitors can have up to
3 interior braces in front of the B-pillar. Braces are ( but not limited to )
anything attaching floor to roof, floor to windshield, baffle to windshield,
etc.
7-66 Interior braces are not to
exceed 3” in diameter each.
7-67 Braces extending off of
other braces will count toward the total number of braces allowed.

Finished Look
7-69 Bare wood or unfinished
materials in the passenger area are not permitted. Recommended finish materials are: paint, carpet,
Formica, Plexi, stainless steel, aluminum, vinyl. Bare wood inside the speaker
enclosure is permitted.
Opening of Door
7-70 The drivers or passenger
door must be open during the run. The minimum distance is 12” at its widest
point.
